Early in her career, Sue worked as the National Publicity & Promotions Director for Sydney’s number one Arthouse theater The Dendy. In addition to scouting titles for the distribution arm of the theater, Sue co-ordinated media campaigns for Dendy film releases and publicity for actors including Academy award-winners, Helen Mirren, Daniel Day Lewis and Colin Firth. Sue also worked with directors including Lasse Hallstrom, Jim Jarmusch, Patricia Rozema, Wim Wenders and Academy Award-winners, Kenneth Brannagh, Mike Leigh & Spike Lee. A master negotiator, Sue found a niche in the market place by merging corporate brand values with entertainment and lifestyle opportunities. At the age of twenty-three Sue opened her own company and recruited clients including the Byron Bay Blues & Roots Music Festival (5 year contract) and the National Brand Managers of Southern Comfort, Kahlua and Jack Daniels. At the age of twenty eight Sue and her partners purchased a jazz venue in the heart of Sydney during which time she was credited for creating the first wave of ‘Sponsored Entertainment’ by soliciting the corporate dollar in return for ‘logo inclusion’ on tour posters. Her innovative ideas were well received within the Australian Music and Entertainment industry and Sue was regularly engaged by record labels including Sony Music Australia and Virgin Records to work with their inhouse publicity teams. As manager of various recording artists, Sue was able to negotiate support act appearances with international touring legends including Destiny’s Child, Paul McCartney & Simply Red. In 2015 Sue was acknowledged with Marriage Equality USA’s Community Award for her work as a producer of the award winning “SHE4ME” Marriage Equality PSA viral video starring Nesting Doll Producer/Actress and business partner Barbara Niven. SHE4ME was directed by Nesting Doll’s Nicole Conn and co-produced with singer/songwriter/EP Jen Foster and Marriage Equality USA. The video has gone on to generate more than 2 million views on You Tube and has been invited to be shown at film festivals around the world including the UK and Italian Film Festivals. SHE4ME was also honored with the coveted 2016 OutMusic Video of the Year Award. In 2016, Sue and business partner actress and producer Barbara Niven signed on as lead producers of the Humanitarian project Rock Against Trafficking (RAT). The RAT initiative showcases global music brands including Carlos Santana, Fergie/Slash, Rob Thomas (Matchbox Twenty), Julian Lennon, Heart, Journey, Nickelback and aims to raise funds and overall awareness of Human Trafficking. Sue has more than 28 years of experience working with some of the most powerful brands in the global corporate arena. She has mastered an ‘outside the box’ model when it comes to creating innovative strategies and cross promotional opportunities for brands that includes the licensing of third party content.
